The veil is the most ancient element of the wedding dress. This accessory came in the Christian era, it is already 2000 years old.

Depending on the era and the area where the veil was worn, its appearance, shape, style and much more changed. Nevertheless, its main meaning remained unchanged at all times, in all nations.

The veil is a symbol of chastity and purity of the bride. In the 15th century, white balls began to be held. The people were walking, celebrating on some topics, when all the guests had to come in something white. Based on this, France is the beginning of themed costumes of the same color scheme. The color red gained its popularity during the Renaissance. However, already in the 16th century, costumes of such colors were abandoned. This was facilitated by Protestantism, Lutheranism, Martin Luther.

Germany is the ancestor of the black color priority, which was picked up by the Spaniards and Italians. Simply put, black gained its share of popularity with the discovery of America. It was from America that black was brought: dyes, various paints, and so on. Fullness is a fashion that took place in the Baroque era. Began to appear voluminous dresses on lush beauties. They looked quite organic. Also yellow and gold colored wedding dresses became popular during this period of time. Lace perfectly complemented the rolled up dresses. Huge lace collars entered the era of the Musketeers.

The underwear included a skirt, stockings to the knees. Pantaloons were worn by girls of easy virtue.

Stockings were tied under the knee on a bow of ribbons, kept on garters. Pink and coral colors did not remain untouched in the second half of the 17th century. If the bride was once already married, then she wore less luxurious dresses: a mixture of red and black colors. Nevertheless, lace played one of the most important roles. A folded collar is one such element.

The French Revolution is the end of 18th century dresses. Many luxurious things are left in the past: wigs, robrons, corsets, heels and much more. This fashion duly influenced the appearance of white in wedding dresses in the following eras.
