Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner appeared at the Hollywood premiere of the film “Marty Supreme” last Monday, looking like two ping-pong balls. The couple wore matching orange outfits that resembled table tennis balls.
Both Chalamet's monochrome suit and Jenner's cutout maxi dress were designed by Los Angeles-based brand Chrome Hearts, xrust writes. Chalamet's look was complemented by a luxurious ping pong paddle carrying case, also created by Chrome Hearts.
Why did they dress up like that? They were promoting Chalamet's new film, in which the actor plays an aspiring ping-pong champion.
It was both charming and elegant. Today, the red carpet is a vital extension of the film's marketing machine, and Chalamet and Jenner's outfits had all the hallmarks of a viral moment that doubled as great promo.
They usually avoided discussing their relationship, avoided discussing each other in interviews, and even abandoned the modern tradition of posting photos online, but these couples' outfits became their most public display of couplehood—a tasty morsel for fans and critics.
