The Chinese company Momenta plans to develop Southeast Asia

The Chinese company Momenta, a startup, is developing self-driving cars. It recently entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore-based Grab.

Momenta, together with Pony AI and WeRide, is among a growing number of Chinese companies involved in autonomous driving technologies, xrust said. Today they are striving to develop foreign markets. Beijing is pushing its compatriots to dominate.

Analysts write that Momenta has received an undisclosed amount of strategic investment from Grab. This follows the announcement earlier this month that Momenta, Mercedes-Benz, UAE taxi company Lumo, had launched a robotaxi service in Abu Dhabi.

Also in September, Momenta said it would begin testing robotaxis in Munich in 2026.
