Microsoft & ndash; Norwegians complained to Brazil

Microsoft suppresses the Norwegian developer of the Opera browser. It filed a complaint against the American technological giant Microsoft. The paper was obtained on Tuesday by the Brazilian antimonopoly organ Cade.

Microsoft has been irritated by Opera since 2007. Then the Norwegian developer first filed a complaint with the European Commission on Microsoft, recalls Xrust. The essence of the lawsuit was the statement that the Americans tied their Internet Explorer browser to the Windows operating system. The case ultimately ended with the provision of the EU antitrust in the amount of $ 648 million on the American company.

Opera filed a lawsuit in July last year. It was excluded by the Microsoft Edge from the law on digital markets. The document limits the influence of large technological companies using a list of what can be done and what can not be done.

On its complaint in the CADE, Opera said that preliminary installation of Microsoft Edge as a default browser on all Windows computers interferes competitors. After all, for example, Opera is deprived of important preset capabilities.

According to analysts, in June, the share of desktop computers in Brazil amounted to 6.78%, while the share of EDGE was 11.52%, and the share of Google Chrome — 75%.
