Meta is a new artificial intelligence model focused on images and videos. The project was called Mango.

Meta, according to a message xrust received from a person who attended a corporate discussion of the project, has begun to work on new models of artificial intelligence. These will be released in the first half of 2026.

One ​​of the priorities of the new text model, codenamed Avocado, is improving its programming skills. The company is also in the early stages of exploring the development of so-called world models — artificial intelligence that studies the environment by perceiving visual information.

Last summer, Meta reorganized its AI development team, hiring new people for senior positions. Meta's CEO personally launched a massive recruiting campaign, poaching more than 20 researchers from OpenAI and assembling a staff of more than 50 new researchers, engineers and other employees with AI expertise.
