Google Gemini — what kind of beast is

google gemini is the long-promised family of generation of the next generation from Google. It was designed by specialists DeepMind and Google Research.

google gemini is represented by four options for Xrust:

• Gemini Ultra, a very large model.
• Gemini Pro. The model is slightly smaller than the previous one.
• gemini flash, a more fast, «distilled» version Pro.
• gemini nano, two small models: nano-1 nano-1 nano-1 and a little more productive Nano-2, working in autonomous “swimming.”

All models are multimodal. In other words, they are able to work and analyze not only the text. Google claims that they were pre-trained and tuned to various publicly available:

• branded and licensed audio, images and videos;
• Complex code bases; And the text in different languages.

This distinguishes Gemini from models such as Google Lamda, which was trained exclusively on text data. Lamda cannot understand or generate anything beyond the scope of the text.

We note that the ethics and legality of teaching models on public data, in some cases, without the knowledge or consent of data owners, are unclear. Google has a policy of compensation for damage to AI to protect certain Google Cloud customers from lawsuits if they are faced with them, but this policy contains exceptions.
