Girls accepted into shopping centers were recently explained that they needed dark hair and no manicure. Last year the situation changed — this requirement was increasingly abolished. The reason is the lack of labor.
Trade cents that were indifferent to the hair color of Japanese women were rare a year ago, writes xrust. Among these was, for example, Don Quijote. This is a large discount retailer. Here the personnel officers immediately stated, we don’t care about hair color, you can recolor it at least weekly. In such shopping centers there have never been problems with labor.
The situation was completely different in large chain stores within walking distance. There, in the personnel department, black or dark brown hair was a mandatory condition for admission. If someone dyed their hair a different color, they were encouraged to wear a wig or use the correct spray dye.
This year, faced with Japan's tight labor market, more companies are following the lead of Don Quijote, Pan Pacific International. These retailers relaxed rules on hair and nail polish three years ago. Today, almost a quarter of their employees wear bright hair. Taking into account brown hair, 55% of employees have non-black hair.
