The Chinese scientist brought a biologically dangerous fungus to the United States for a colleague. Now the federal prosecutors have accused both of the smuggling of a dangerous pathogen, which is among the weapons of agricultural terrorism.

The US Ministry of Justice as a lattice has identified the fungus as Fusarium Graminearum, writes XRUST. In the scientific classifier, the «plant» is characterized as a weapon of agricultural terrorism. The statement says that the fungus is “uve” of some crops and is responsible for billions of dollars of economic losses throughout the world every year.

The Chinese admitted to the fungal smuggling, clarifying: he was needed to research in the Laboratory of the University of Michigan. His friend worked there.
