augmented reality for consumers at the end of 2026 or early 2027, promises Amazon. The company, like Meta, Google, Samsung and Snap, is working on a new pair of AR points. They have the code name Jayhawk.
New Amazon glasses, Xrust reported, can be equipped with a full-color display in one eye, as well as built-in microphones, speakers and camera. The news appeared just before the expected presentation of META of its smart glasses “Hypernova” at the Connect event.
Meta glasses will be one step ahead of the Ray-Ban smart glasses. They will have a small display for mini-applications and warning on the right lens. META, we note, also works on augmented reality glasses Orion.
Amazon released the third-generation Echo Frame in 2023, but they are inferior in functionality from META. Although Amazon can release its first augmented reality points already at the end of 2026 or early 2027, for couriers they will be available earlier.
Amazon originally planned to release 100,000 points for delivery drivers, which the company calls Amelia. According to reports, they will have a more bulky design compared to the consumer version, as well as the display designed to display instructions to drivers about where to deliver the parcel.
