A real man write in the units of the health of Tiktok or Instagram, sleeps for an hour or two less women. Scientists became interested in this statement. It turned out interesting conclusions.
A real man or woman sleep in accordance with biological, psychological and even public expectations, writes Xrust.
Researchers usually measure the dream of two ways:
- people's surveys-how much you sleep, they ask. Interestingly, the townsfolk are inaccurate in assessing the duration of sleep;
- using tools such as wearable sensors, registering brain waves, breathing and movement during sleep.
If we consider objective data, it turns out that women sleep about 20 minutes more men.
One global study, which covered almost 70,000 people who wore sensors, revealed a small but stable difference between men and women of different age groups. For example, the difference in the duration of sleep between men and women aged 40–44 was about 23–29 minutes.
Another major study using polysonography showed that women sleep about 19 minutes longer than men. In this study, women also spent more time in the phase of deep sleep: about 23% of the night compared to about 14% in men. The study also showed that the quality of sleep with age worsens only in men.
The key moment in these conclusions is that our individual sleep needs are significantly different. Women can sleep on average a little more, but there is no universal duration of sleep.
The assertion that every woman needs 20 additional minutes (not to mention two hours) does not correspond to reality. It’s the same as saying that all women should be lower than all men.
