Xiaomi has stopped supporting six Xiaomi and Redmi models

Xiaomi has updated the list of devices that have reached the EOL (End of Life) stage and has stopped planned software support for them. The list includes six Xiaomi and Redmi models: Xiaomi 12S Pro, Xiaomi 12 Lite, Redmi Pad SE, Redmi Note 12R, Redmi 12R and Redmi 12 5G.

Owners of these devices will no longer be able to count on regular HyperOS updates, monthly security patches and new features in subsequent versions of the system.

Which devices are included in the EOL list

• Xiaomi 12S Pro ;
• Xiaomi 12 Lite ;
• Redmi Pad SE ;
• Redmi Note 12R ;
• Redmi 12R ;
• Redmi 12 5G .

EOL status means the end of normal software support. Devices are not blocked: installed applications, files and basic functions are preserved. However, there are no longer any new scheduled updates for these models.

What updates will not be

• regular HyperOS updates;
• monthly security patches;
• new features from subsequent versions of HyperOS.

This does not mean that smartphones and tablets will stop working immediately after appearing on the EOL list. But over time, software protection for devices may become less relevant compared to models that continue to receive patches.

Do I need to urgently change the device

Urgent replacement is not required. All six models will continue to function as usual, but users looking for the latest security updates and new HyperOS features should plan to upgrade to a newer device.

Those who use a smartphone for banking applications, purchases, work accounts and storing personal data should pay particular attention to the replacement period.

The possibility of individual emergency updates in the future cannot be considered a continuation of normal support: if such a patch is released, it will be intended to fix a specific problem, and not to return to a regular update schedule.
