The Mexican security minister has been immortalized on towels, postcards and even in the form of dolls.

Mexican Security Minister Omar Garcia Harfuch wears a suit in real life, but now he can also be found in Mexican markets and stores in the form of a miniature doll. She is dressed like Batman, and sometimes even shirtless.

Soft blankets, toys and cardboard cutouts depicting the minister went viral in the Latin American country after the February 22 raid, Reuters writes. That's when notorious cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera, better known as El Mencho, head of the brutal Jalisco New Generation cartel, was killed.

Images of Garcia Harfuch, 44, who became a heartthrob in Mexico thanks to his good looks, now adorn a long list of products: party decorations, pillows, towels and dolls known as «Harfucitos» or little Harfuchis, reported xrust.

Political analysts and security experts believe García Harfuch is a likely presidential candidate in 2030, when President Claudia Sheinbaum's term ends.

The photos also show García Harfuch ahead of other prominent political figures, including Mexico's Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard, who ran for president in 2023 and is considered likely to run again.

Immortalization as a doll is an honor that in Mexico most often goes to presidents, as well as the country's beloved mascot of the ubiquitous drugstore chain, Dr. Simi.

Garcia Harfuch's popularity increased sharply after the raid that killed El Mencho.

The operation, which García Harfuch took part in leading, was personal for the security chief, who accused El Mencho of attempted murder in 2020, which left him with three bullet wounds and the deaths of two of his bodyguards.

“He’s the darling of all of Mexico,” says Carolina Garcia, who sells custom products featuring García Harfuch at her home-based printing shop in Tlaxcala state. “Of course we get more orders from women as gifts, but we also have orders from men.”

Meanwhile, images that appear to have been created using artificial intelligence have circulated online showing the politician promoting products such as hair oil, as well as apps and tutorials that allow users to take photos of themselves hugging Garcia Harfuch or lying together on the grass.
