Sony Xperia 10 VIII spotted on Geekbench with an older processor

A Sony device with model number XQ-GH54 was found in the Geekbench database. The Japanese publication Sumaho Digest associates this index with a possible Sony Xperia 10 VIII for the European market. Sony has not yet officially presented the model and its characteristics.

What is indicated in the Geekbench entry

The test copy scored 871 points in single-threaded mode and 3028 points in multi-threaded mode. The entry indicates a motherboard codenamed parrot and a processor labeled SM6475 .

We may be talking about Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

The SM6475 marking is associated with Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. According to the original publication, the same chip is used in the Xperia 10 VII. If information about the XQ-GH54 is confirmed, the next model in the line may retain the same hardware platform.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 was introduced in August 2024. The chip is produced using a 4nm process technology and operates at frequencies up to 2.4 GHz.

What is unknown yet

One entry in the benchmark does not confirm the final characteristics, announcement date and name of the device. The results of the test sample also do not allow us to accurately estimate the speed of a production smartphone: they are influenced by the software version and testing conditions.

If the Xperia 10 VIII really receives Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, you shouldn’t expect a noticeable performance increase relative to the Xperia 10 VII. However, a conclusion can be made only after the official announcement and independent tests.
