Singer Sia will pay more than $40,000 a month to support her son in an agreement with her ex-husband

Singer Sia agreed to pay her ex-husband Daniel Bernad $42,500 a month as child support for their common son, writes xrust. This became known from court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday.

According to the case materials studied by the agency, payments for the maintenance of Somersault Vander Bernad began on April 1. The agreement provides for monthly payments until the child reaches 18 years of age, and in the case of continuing education in high school — until 19 years of age or graduation.

The 50-year-old singer of the hit “Chandelier” also took on obligations to pay for private school tuition, medical expenses not covered by insurance, and extracurricular activities. Additionally, the singer is required to maintain a $5 million life insurance policy naming her son as the beneficiary or establish an equivalent trust fund.

The court established a regime of joint legal custody. Physical custody is allocated on a fixed schedule that includes splitting holidays: Sia retains custody for Christmas, Easter and Mother's Day, while Bernad retains custody for Father's Day and part of Hanukkah.

Sia filed for divorce from Bernad in March 2025, a year after the birth of their son and two years after their marriage. Previously, the singer announced the birth of her third child (the first in her marriage to Bernad) on March 27, 2024.
