Prada объявила войну лишнему: почему базовый гардероб снова стал главным трендом для мужчин

At Milan Men's Fashion Week, the Prada brand presented a collection in which it abandoned complex designs and elaborate details. Designers focused on simple things, showing what a men's wardrobe can be in an era of overabundance of choice.

The Prada fashion house surprised the guests of Milan Men's Fashion Week with an unexpected decision: instead of spectacular experiments, the brand offered the most simple and understandable collection, writes xrust. The show, called “Clarity,” became a kind of manifesto in favor of basic men's wardrobe and conscious consumption. This was reported by Reuters and the world's leading fashion publications.

The brand's creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons decided to abandon excessive design and focus on the fundamental elements of menswear. Cropped leather jackets, straight trousers, denim sets in unusual shades, light shirts and knitted vests with geometric patterns appeared on the catwalk. Instead of complex accessories, the designers offered compact leather pouches that attach to the belt. According to the authors of the collection, today things that can be worn for a long time and in different life situations are of particular value.

The display philosophy attracted particular attention from experts. While many brands continue to surprise the public with unusual shapes and bold experiments, Prada actually called for a return to the roots of men's fashion. Raf Simons compared the new collection to the classic Italian pomodoro pasta: there are few ingredients, but each of them is important and flawlessly executed.
