Poco M8x 5G: 7900 mAh battery, IP64 and 6 years of updates for $200

Poco introduced the budget smartphone Poco M8x 5G in India. The model received a 7900 mAh battery, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip, a screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, IP64 protection and support for Android updates for four generations.

7900 mAh battery and 45 W charging

Poco M8x 5G is equipped with a battery with a capacity 7900 mAh. According to the manufacturer, one charge will last up to 35 hours of work on social networks, up to 13 hours of navigation, up to 64 hours of listening to music or up to 27 days of correspondence.

The smartphone supports wired charging with a power of 45 W and reverse wired charging with a power of up to 22.5 W. You can charge other devices from your smartphone battery.

6.9-inch screen and IP64 protection

The smartphone received a 6.9-inch IPS display with a resolution HD+. The refresh rate is 120 Hz, the sensor layer polling rate is up to 240 Hz. Claimed peak brightness is 825 nits.

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The case is IP64 rated: it is protected from dust and splashing water, but is not rated for submersion in water.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 and HyperOS 3

Poco M8x 5G runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform 4 Gen 5. The smartphone will be available in versions with 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage.

A three-component cooling system is used to remove heat. The device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. The manufacturer promises four major Android updates and six years of security updates.

Cameras

The main camera received a 50 MP sensor. The front camera resolution is 8 megapixels. Detailed characteristics of the remaining camera modules have not been disclosed.

Poco M8x 5G price in India

• 4/128 GB – $200 including starting discount for first buyers;
• 6/128 GB — $220.

So far, Poco M8x 5G is presented only in India. There is no information about the release of the model in other markets.
