Life is Strange: Reunion will be released on March 26, 2026 — the finale of the Max and Chloe saga

On March 26, 2026, Square Enix will release Life is Strange: Reunion, the long-awaited conclusion to the story of Max Caulfield and Chloe Price. The game will be released simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). This is a direct continuation of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, where the heroines will finally meet again, and the player's decisions from the original 2015 game will directly affect the plot.

For the first time in the series, the developers of Deck Nine Games have made both characters fully playable: you can switch entire scenes as Max and Chloe, writes xrust. Max will reclaim his Rewind power to solve puzzles and save lives, while Chloe uses her signature Backtalk to persuade and infiltrate restricted areas.

Gameplay and new mechanics

Players will alternate control over the heroines until they meet, and then make decisions for both of them at once. Rewind is now more flexible: Max can undo actions in real time, solve 4D puzzles and use polaroids to travel through time. Chloe's Backtalk works on a timer — you need to quickly select lines based on the environment to avoid consequences.

Heroine journals are back in your hands — the perfect tool for brushing up on backstory. Photos from hot spots and incoming messages are also saved there. Another new feature: pictures can be taken at any time and shared on social networks right in the game.

Plot without spoilers: last chance for Max and Chloe

The action takes place at Caledon University nine months after the events of Double Exposure. Max tries to prevent a deadly fire that will destroy the campus in just three days. Chloe is plagued by nightmares and «impossible memories» of a life that never happened. Together they will have to make the most difficult decisions and find a common future — until everything burns down.

The plot branches depending on the ending of the original Life is Strange: whether Chloe remained alive, whether Arcadia Bay was sacrificed and whether there was a romance between the heroines. Familiar faces from Double Exposure return including Safi, Moses and Amanda.
