Kylie Jenner once again graced the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the main fashion event of the year — Met Gala 2026! For the founder of the Khy and Kylie Cosmetics brands, this was the ninth appearance in her career, and this time she relied on an exclusive creation from the fashion house Schiaparelli.
The 28-year-old star, writes xrust, appeared before the public in a flesh-colored corset with a bold anatomical bodice decoration, complemented by a voluminous train skirt. The cut of the outfit created an intriguing visual effect, imitating the natural curves of the body under layers of precious fabric.
The lower part of the ensemble, made of butter duchesse satin, is strikingly detailed: it is embroidered with more than 2,000 satin stitch elements, 10,000 natural baroque pearls and complemented by 7,000 hand-painted mother-of-pearl details reminiscent of fish scales. In total, it took about 11,000 hours of painstaking embroidery work to create this intricate image.
The jewelry component of the look included a vintage silver necklace, decorated with rhinestones, pearls and miniature sculpted bird heads, as well as massive chandelier earrings made of “warm” silver, decorated with crystals.
For her beauty look, Kylie chose a provocative trend — bleached eyebrows. “Unfortunately for me, I have no eyebrows,” she ironically captioned a selfie on Instagram Stories right before heading out on the red carpet.
Jenner's choice was a vibrant interpretation of this year's ball theme: «The Art of Costume» with the official dress code «Fashion as Art.» Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibition explores the deep connection between clothing and human physiology, presenting rooms dedicated to the transformation of the body — from motherhood to aging. Modern costumes are exhibited in pairs with works of art that are up to 5,000 years old.
Although celebrity guests were able to appreciate the exhibition on the “iconic first Monday in May”, the exhibition will open to the general public on May 10, 2026 and will last until early January 2027. This year's gala was co-chaired by Beyonce (who returned to the ball for the first time since 2016), Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and the permanent Anna Wintour.
