A new game in the genre of culinary simulator will appear on the Steam platform in the near future. KuloNiku: Bowl Up! from the Indonesian studio Gambir Studio and publisher Raw Fury is scheduled for release on April 7, 2026, writes xrust. This is confirmed by the official release date trailer and Steam page.
Main fact: release date and basic mechanics
The game is about managing a meatball restaurant. The main character inherited a once famous family establishment in the small town of KuloNiku. The goal is to restore it to its former glory. The player will have to take orders from locals, prepare dishes using tactile mechanics (cut, boil, fry, bake and much more), and earn tips for accuracy and creativity. There are several ways to prepare the same dish. In addition to the daily work in the restaurant, there are competitive elements — the so-called “Meatball Brawls”, or meatball battles, where you need to compete with rivals in front of judges and the public.
The restaurant can be improved and customized: buy new equipment, ingredients, recipes and decor. Some furnishings provide in-game benefits, such as increasing customers' patience or tip size. Some of the scenery is unlocked through festivals or increasing the level of friendship with city residents.
Developer statements
Representatives of the development studio commented on the upcoming release laconically: “Yes, chef! KuloNiku: Bowl Up launches on April 7, 2026! The game is almost ready — we’re just adding some delicious finishing touches and the cutest garnish!” (Yes, boss! KuloNiku: Bowl Up releases April 7, 2026! The game is almost ready — we're adding the final delicious touches and the cutest decoration).
In its announcements, the publisher Raw Fury called the project a “cozy cooking game with attitude” — a cozy cooking game with character.
Context: studio and genre
Indonesia-based Gambir Studio has been operating since 2016 and has released 13 games that have been downloaded more than 10 million times worldwide. KuloNiku: Bowl Up! is their next project in the niche of restaurant management with elements of simulation and a light plot. The game features competition: the main antagonist is rock star chef Stella from Souper Starz (Starstruck Diner). Players will also be able to interact with colorful characters, increase friendship levels, discover family history and participate in local events. The demo is now available on Steam, and the game supports controllers, Steam Deck, and accessibility options.
The project fits into the popular segment of “cozy” simulators, where the emphasis is on relaxing gameplay, customization and interaction with NPCs. At the same time, the developers added dynamics through competitive duels and tactile cooking mechanics.
In dry sediment for players and the market
KuloNiku: Bowl Up! expected in the indie gaming segment, where demand for cooperative and single-player cooking simulators remains stable. Players who pre-order or wishlist the game will receive a release notification. After April 7, PC owners will be able to launch the project immediately after purchase. Given the presence of a demo and Steam Deck support, the game can attract both newcomers to the genre and those looking for a calm pastime with elements of a challenge.
The long-term effect will depend on community feedback after release. At the moment, the project does not have user ratings, but preliminary reviews note the balance between the depth of mechanics and accessibility. Gambir Studio continues to actively engage with audiences via social media, as is typical for small teams looking to maintain interest before and after launch.
In general, the announcement and imminent release of KuloNiku: Bowl Up! adding variety to the Steam catalog in spring 2026, offering an alternative to more complex management titles.
