Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis married his beloved Brittany Parisi at a private ceremony in California, and told the world about it only three weeks later. The wedding, inspired by a Botticelli painting, featured a bagpiper, a string quartet and a kilt instead of a tuxedo. The news surfaced only now, almost a month later: the couple deliberately did not advertise the celebration, giving the exclusive to People only after several weeks.
Ceremony at the cliff
The newlyweds got married at The Neighborhood Church of Palos Verdes, on the rocky coast of southern California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. According to the couple, it was this landscape that was supposed to remind them of Italy, where a year earlier Davis proposed, xrust recalls.
Only 80 people were invited to the ceremony — close friends and relatives. Guests include the current full Korn lineup: guitarists James Shaffer (Munky) and Brian Welch (Head), bassist Ra Diaz and drummer Ray Luzier. Renaissance on the Pacific Coast
The design idea was not born by chance. A year ago, during a European tour, Davis proposed to Parisi right next to Sandro Botticelli’s painting “The Birth of Venus” — they made a special stop at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Parisi, who has Italian roots and a long-standing interest in the Medici family — the same thing that commissioned Botticelli's painting — remembers that day as the moment when she was «sitting in the sun with coffee and ice cream, and the rock star next to her suddenly took her to the museum of her dreams.»
This plot formed the basis of the wedding aesthetic: the organizers tried to make the guests on the Californian cliff feel like they were in Florence. The bride and groom's outfits were designed by fashion designer Ashton Michael, who described Parisi's dress as draped silk tufting over a low-waist corset silhouette, «where restraint meets romance.» But Davis went against the Renaissance theme: instead of a tuxedo, he wore a kilt with a red tie, a tribute to his Scottish roots, which he never tires of recalling in interviews.
Bagpipes instead of Mendelssohn's march

The groom's appearance was announced by bagpiper Aaron Shaw, with half a century of experience — Davis has long and openly spoken about his love for Scottish culture and can play the bagpipes himself. But the bride was led to the altar by a string quartet from Las Vegas: first Pachelbel’s Canon, then, instead of the usual Mendelssohn march, Wagner’s wedding choir.
After the official part — the first dance to the song Lana Del Rey Young and Beautiful at a buffet overlooking the ocean, a five-course dinner from chef Celestino Drago and jazz musicians at the evening reception.

For a musician whose career has been built on the image of the dark rebel of nu metal — Korn, with the albums Follow the Leader and Issues in the late nineties, essentially created the genre — such intimacy seems a deliberate contrast to his public image.
A curious coincidence was also noticed in the Western media: the ceremony took place on the same days as Taylor Swift’s wedding — an event that attracted incomparably more attention. Davis and Parisi, apparently, did not seek comparison: their wedding was prepared as an intimate family celebration, and not a media occasion.
For the band itself, the moment is symbolic: in the fall, Korn goes on a European tour with Architects and Youth Code, so the newlyweds will probably have to fit their honeymoon into their tour schedule.
