Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, during an official visit to Italy, tried herself as an apprentice to an Italian chef and learned how to cook traditional pasta, xrust reported. The trip of Prince William's wife to the Emilia-Romagna region attracted the attention of the world press not only because of the interest in the British royal family, but also due to the unusual format of the event.
According to Reuters, Kate visited the so-called «gastronomic valley» in northern Italy — a region famous for the production of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, prosciutto and homemade pasta. One of the central events of the visit was a trip to the Al Vigneto farm, located between Parma and Reggio Emilia.
It was there that the Princess of Wales, under the guidance of chef Ivan Lampredi, tried to cook tortelli — a type of Italian pasta with filling. Traditionally, the dish is prepared with ricotta and herbs, but other variations exist in the region: with pumpkin, spinach and artichokes.
Photos from the event quickly spread across social networks and British tabloids. In the pictures, Kate rolls out dough, chats with locals and helps prepare lunch for the farm's guests. Users noted that the princess looked relaxed and genuinely interested in the process.

Representatives of the center spoke about the importance of an environmental approach and the development of creative thinking in children.

Italian residents warmly welcomed the representative of the British monarchy: in Reggio Emilia, hundreds of people gathered on the streets wanting to see Kate in person.
