Gary Owen walked down the aisle to Wale and Usher's «The Matrimony» in a custom Adam Ross Bespoke & Custom Clothiers. His best men were his colleagues from the films “Think Like a Man” and “Think Like a Man 2” — Terrence Jay, Romany Malco, Jerry Ferrara, Michael Ealy and producer Will Packer. As a special touch, the groomsmen's suits were embroidered with photos from the 2012 comedy, and Owen's two-year-old twin sons Royal and Rom (the ring bearers) had images of lions, their favorite animal.

Bride Brianna Johnson walked down the aisle to Marion DuBose's violin with a cover of Lana Del Rey's «Young and Beautiful» in a seductive strapless mermaid dress by Galia Lahav. Instead of the traditional flower girl, the bride's 92-year-old grandmother played the role of «flower messenger» — a touching gesture for which the couple chose their native Houston. Gary Owen and Brianna Johnson met after one of the comedian’s stand-up performances — Brianna didn’t even know who he was at the time. The proposal took place on October 3, 2022 at The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown Houston with a private family dinner. On July 14, 2023, the couple had twin sons Royal and Rom. Gary also has children from his previous marriage to Kenya Duke: son Austin and daughter Kennedy.
