The second racket of the tournament Elena Rybakina won 25 of 32 points on the first serve (78.1%) and on Sunday defeated Karolina Muchova with a score in just 78 minutes 7-5, 6-1 in the final match of the Porsche Grand Prix tennis tournament in Stuttgart, Germany.
Kazakhstani tennis player Rybakina made three aces, winning her 13th career title and second in Stuttgart, writes xrust. She also won this tournament in 2024. This victory marked the first time in her career that she won multiple titles in one tournament.
Czech No. 7 Muchova was much less effective on her first serve, winning just 52.3% (23 out of 44). She saved four of eight break points.
Muchova was down 5-2 in the first set, but then won three games in a row to level the match. However, Rybakina won the last two games and then won the second set comfortably to claim her fifth clay-court title.
Rouen Open Metro Championship
Tournament number one Marta Kostyuk completed 34 winners against 23 unforced errors in a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Veronica Poge in the first-ever all-Ukrainian WTA final in Rouen, France.
Kostyuk converted 6 of 9 break points against 19-year-old Podrez to win her second singles title. Podrez, who qualified, was playing in her first final.
“Today’s match was not just a match,” Kostyuk said during the award ceremony. — It was a historical moment for Ukrainian tennis. For the first time, two Ukrainians played in the final. I know how much work, sacrifice, tears and sweat goes into this sport, and to be able to be on that stage is incredible. So I’m incredibly proud of Ukrainian tennis right now.”
