Famous Russian actor Egor Beroev made his first official public appearance with his new wife, 21-year-old ballerina Anna Pankratova, on the sidelines of the world premiere of his directorial debut “Doll” in capital of Japan.
The event that took place on April 11 as part of the “Russian Culture Festival in Japan 2026” attracted attention not only for its cinematic context, but also for the changes in the personal life of the artist, who for more than 20 years was a member of marriage to actress Ksenia Alferova, writes xrust.
Cinematic debut and international response
The film “Doll,” in which Beroev acted as both director and screenwriter, tells the dramatic story of Nadya, a young woman released from prison and trying to find her daughter born in captivity. The main role in the film was played by Anna Pankratova. According to the creators, the casting was a turning point: Beroev met his future wife at the choreographic school, where he selected actresses for filming.
“We never imagined that this picture would find such a strong response from the Japanese audience. However, the visuals, the rhythm of the frame and the emotional depth of the acting turned out to be surprisingly in tune with local perception,” Beroev commented on the results of the show.
The Japanese audience especially noted Pankratova’s debut work, emphasizing her “organic immersion in a complex dramatic image.”
Personal life under the gun of the media
The world premiere in Tokyo was the first official confirmation of the artist’s new status. Earlier, in February 2026, information appeared in the media about the secret wedding of 48-year-old Beroev and 21-year-old Pankratova, which took place in a narrow circle in the Moscow region.
Changes in the actor’s life followed a high-profile divorce from Ksenia Alferova. Although the official divorce was formalized in 2025, Beroev himself claims that actual family relations ceased in 2022. Alferova, in turn, publicly confirmed the breakup at the beginning of this year, noting discrepancies in the “chronology of events” broadcast by her ex-husband.
Event details
On the red carpet in Tokyo, the couple showed unity, posing for photographers and answering questions from the audience. Anna Pankratova chose a laconic denim minidress for her appearance, while Beroev preferred a casual style, appearing in a blue jacket and jeans.
The Russian release of the film “Doll” is scheduled for April 30, 2026. It is expected that the film will arouse wide interest not only due to Beroev’s directorial vision, but also because of the high public interest in the new creative and personal union of the film’s creators.
Beroev, whose career reached its peak after the role of Erast Fandorin in The Turkish Gambit, is now opening a new chapter of his professional activity, moving to deep psychological directing.
