The Chrome browser, Google said last Monday, can now fill out passport information, driver's license information, vehicle registration information and more with AutoFill.
Desktop users who have the enhanced AutoFill feature enabled will see their passport number and driver's license, vehicle information (such as license plate or VIN number), and other information. Google says Chrome can now better recognize complex shapes and varied formatting requirements, which will improve online accuracy.
The tech giant says Chrome only stores autofill data with your permission and protects that information with encryption. Additionally, before Chrome fills in the saved information on your behalf, it will ask for your confirmation.
These updates are available worldwide in all languages starting Monday. Chrome plans to add support for even more data types in the coming months.
