Adobe Acrobat now lets you edit files and more with AI

Adobe Acrobat has been actively adding artificial intelligence features to its products over the past few years. The company is now expanding the capabilities of Acrobat, adding, in particular, the ability to create short descriptions of files for podcasts, design presentations and edit files with hints.

Adobe last year launched Spaces, a file and notes repository that can be accessed by multiple users, reminiscent of xrust. The company now allows users to use the information stored in these files and notes to create presentations using text prompts.

For example, if a user has financial data, product roadmaps, and competitive analysis available in the space, he can create a presentation for clients that focuses on why his product can solve problems better than competitors' products.

First, Acrobat's AI assistant creates an editable presentation with the points it will cover. You can then use the Adobe Express theme library, stock photos, or your own images to create your presentation. Plus, you can easily apply your brand theme or edit individual slides using Express.

Tools like Canva and NotebookLM already allow you to convert documents into presentations. Additionally, new startups are also working to enable people to use AI to create presentations using various resources.

Adobe also allows users to create podcasts to summarize the contents of a file or space in Acrobat. Notably, tools like Google's NotebookLM, Speechify, and ElevenLabs' Reader app also allow users to create personalized podcasts using a variety of notes and documents.

Acrobat will also add the ability to edit files using tooltips. The company said that users will be able to perform 12 actions, including:

  • deleting pages, text, comments and images;
  • search and replace words and phrases;
  • adding electronic signatures and passwords.

Acrobat already had file sharing capabilities through Spaces, but now when you share files with other users, the files will contain AI-generated short descriptions indicating the exact location in the file. Participants can also leave comments on files and add or delete content.
