2GIS launches the “Fine Map”: the navigator will show problem areas

In the fall, 2GIS will launch the “Fine Map” — a personal layer in the navigator with road sections where a specific user previously received a fine. During the trip, the service will be able to warn the driver about such a place so that he can reduce speed in advance or pay more attention to signs and markings.

Which violations will appear on the map

The “Fine Map” will show areas where violations were recorded by traffic cameras. This is not a general database of dangerous places or a list of fines of other drivers, but a personal user history.

The service will take into account paid fines for the last year, including for speeding, driving into a designated lane, stopping, violating road markings and driving through intersections.

While driving, the navigator will be able to remind you in advance of the place where the driver has already violated the rules. This will help check speed, ability to change lanes or stop, and sign and marking requirements.

Information will be updated once a week

New violations will not appear in the service immediately. 2GIS plans to update data for the “Fine Map” once a week.

The project will include fines that the user paid through Sber services. Sber will act as a technology partner and provide 2GIS with information about paid penalties.

Payment details, including the amount and payment method, will not be displayed in the navigator. The service will receive the data necessary to display the location of the violation and the associated warning.

Who will have access to the function

A personal card will appear for users authorized in 2GIS via Sber ID. After logging in, the service will compare information about paid fines with your account and show the corresponding road sections.

One driver will see the places of his own violations, and not abstract control zones and not violations of other road users.

2GIS will expand the existing function

Currently, 2GIS already marks cameras near which the user previously exceeded the speed limit. The “Fine Map” will expand this opportunity: in addition to speeding, the service will begin to take into account driving into a designated lane, stopping, violating road markings, and driving through intersections.

The map will collect areas associated with user violations over the past year. Data on fines paid through Sber services are planned to be added once a week.
